Atlantic City Declares May 7 as Visit Atlantic City Day in Celebration of Tourism Excellence
In recognition of the vital role tourism plays in Atlantic City’s continued resurgence, Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and City officials formally proclaimed May 7, 2025, as “Visit Atlantic City Day”, honoring the organization’s outstanding contributions to economic development, event strategy, and destination marketing.
The announcement was made during National Travel and Tourism Week, underscoring the City's commitment to celebrating partnerships that fuel progress, create jobs, and put Atlantic City on the map as a world-class destination for entertainment, business, and culture.
“Tourism is the backbone of Atlantic City’s economy,” said Mayor Small. “We’re proud to recognize Visit Atlantic City for not just bringing people here—but for giving them a reason to come back.”
Driving Impact, Setting Records
In the first quarter of 2025 alone, Visit Atlantic City generated more than $77 million in direct economic impact through 12 large-scale events, including conventions, sporting competitions, and conferences. These efforts helped keep hotels full, restaurants buzzing, and small businesses thriving—all while advancing the city’s broader goal of year-round tourism.
The proclamation also highlighted the strategic unification of Visit Atlantic City and DO AC, a move that strengthened the city’s brand and streamlined marketing efforts under a bold, unified vision.
Leadership and Collaboration at the Core
Mayor Small and City officials commended Visit Atlantic City President & CEO Gary Musich for his leadership, vision, and results-driven approach to elevating Atlantic City’s profile. Musich accepted the honor with gratitude, emphasizing the power of collaboration between local partners, businesses, and city agencies to build a destination that resonates with visitors and locals alike.
“From the Boardwalk to the backstreets, our mission is to make every corner of Atlantic City shine,” said Musich. “And we’re just getting started.”
From Airshows to Soar & Shore: Reinventing Tradition
The celebration also spotlighted the transformation of the iconic Atlantic City Airshow into the more dynamic and inclusive Visit Atlantic City Soar & Shore Festival—a testament to the organization's innovative spirit and commitment to curating vibrant, memorable experiences that reflect the energy and diversity of the city.
A Future Built on Momentum
The City’s proclamation served as both recognition and rallying cry—honoring the wins and inspiring future innovation in tourism strategy. City leaders made clear that investing in tourism isn’t just about boosting foot traffic—it’s about creating long-term economic sustainability, cultural pride, and national visibility.
By designating Visit Atlantic City Day, Mayor Small reaffirmed the administration’s belief in strong partnerships, strategic vision, and community-driven progress.
Atlantic City isn’t just a place to visit. It’s a city to remember—and a city on the rise.
